Anti-wrinkle injections are the most popular aesthetic treatment with proven results. Botox® and Xeomin® are a highly effective treatment for reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face. These injections work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in a softer and more youthful appearance. In addition to their ability to smooth wrinkles and frown lines, anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to lift the eyebrows, minimize lines around the nose (bunny lines), and even treat migraines and excessive sweating. One of the key benefits of anti-wrinkle injections is that they have no downtime, making them a convenient and effective treatment option.

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to temporarily relax specific muscles on the face in order to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. During treatment, the neuromodulator is administered in small quantities into targeted muscles. The injection prevents the release of acetylcholine, a chemical transmitter that activates muscle contraction, causing the muscle to become temporarily paralyzed until the injection is metabolized by the body. It typically takes 3 to 10 days after treatment for the full effects of the injection to become noticeable.

The duration of the effects of anti-wrinkle injections, such as Botox or Xeomin, can vary among individuals. On average, the results of treatment can last up to 3 months, although some individuals may experience longer-lasting effects. The frequency of treatment needed to maintain the desired effect can depend on the dose administered and the individual's response to the treatment. It is also influenced by the rate at which the body breaks down the injectable product. In general, it is recommended to repeat the treatment at regular intervals in order to maintain the desired results.

Anti-wrinkle injections are generally considered safe when administered by a qualified medical injector. These injections are relatively painless and straightforward, and side effects are typically mild and temporary. Some possible side effects of anti-wrinkle injections may include temporary bleeding or bruising, mild swelling, and a post-treatment headache. In rare cases, drooping of the eyelids or eyebrows may occur. It is important to note that anti-wrinkle injections should not be administered to individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant, have had an allergic reaction to other botulinum toxin products, have a disease that affects the muscles and nerves, have bleeding problems, or have recently had surgery on the face.

For anti-wrinkle injections, we charge per unit used. Each person is unique and individual needs may vary. Our nurse injector will consult with you to customize a treatment plan which will best fit your needs. 

It is important to understand that Botox® and Xeomin® is a prescription only medicine. A consultation is required before having any anti-wrinkle injection treatments. You will need to complete a detailed personal and medical history consent form. Once this is completed your nurse injector will discuss over your medical history and realistic expected results of the treatment. Once you are medically cleared and agree on a treatment plan then you could choose to move forward with the treatment on the same day or schedule for another time that’s convenient for you. 

One week before your Botox® or Xeomin® treatment avoid:

• Aspirin
• Ibuprofen
• Vitamin E
• Fish oil supplements

No alcohol for 24 hours before treatment. 

If you are taking any prescribed medications, including aspirin please consult with our nurse injector or general Dr. before discontinuing them.
