At Dermaluxe Spa, we have been successfully removing tattoos for over a decade using the Enlighten™ III, one of the most advanced laser systems available today. Manufactured by Cutera, this state-of-the-art laser combines three wavelengths (1064 nm, 532 nm, and 670 nm) with both picosecond and nanosecond pulse durations (750/660 ps + 2 ns), making it highly effective for treating a wide range of multicolor tattoos.

Unlike traditional laser systems that rely solely on nanosecond pulses, the Enlighten™ III delivers high-power picosecond pulses, which break ink into even smaller fragments, allowing the body to naturally eliminate them more efficiently. This cutting-edge technology results in faster fading, fewer sessions, and better clearance of even the most stubborn colors, including difficult-to-remove blues and greens.

Faqs

How many sessions will it take to remove my tattoo?

The number of treatments required varies depending on factors such as tattoo depth, age, and ink colors. While most clients require three to six sessions, some may require more. This is often significantly fewer treatments compared to older laser technologies. We recommend waiting at least a 4 to 6 weeks between sessions to allow for optimal healing.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

Tattoo removal can cause some discomfort. It’s often described as feeling like a rubber band snapping against the skin, with varying levels of intensity depending on the individual and the treatment area.

To enhance your comfort, we offer numbing and/or cooling solutions during your treatments. These can significantly reduce discomfort and make the procedure more tolerable. We also utilize the Zimmer cooling device, which delivers sub-zero air to the treatment area during the procedure, further minimizing discomfort.

What's the downtime and aftercare?

While considered minimal, downtime following laser tattoo removal is important to consider. Most clients can resume normal activities immediately after treatment, however, it’s crucial to avoid strenuous exercise or activities that may cause excessive sweating for the first 24 hours. Direct sun exposure to the treated area should also be avoided for at least a week after each treatment. Mild redness, swelling, and slight discomfort are common side effects and typically subside within a few hours.

Is a consultation required?

Consultation is a Must for First-Timers.

Our consultations are complimentary (free) and are a great opportunity for us to understand your needs and expectations. We will also be able to provide you with an estimate of the price, approximate length of time, and expected results of your treatment. However, please note that in case of last-minute cancellation or no-show to your appointment, a fee of $50 will be charged to compensate for lost time.

What are the contraindications?

Before your tattoo removal treatment, it’s important to inform us if you have any of the following conditions:

Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Using prescription retinoids or Accutane
Treatment area in poor condition (e.g., extremely dry skin, acne, rash)
Recent allergic reaction on or near the area
Recent sun exposure or use of bronzers
Uncontrolled diabetes
Autoimmune disease
Taking any aspirin, anticoagulants, antibiotics, or steroids
Currently experiencing any contagious illness

These conditions may affect the outcome of the treatment and may require additional precautions or necessitate rescheduling your appointment.

Can all tattoo colors be removed?

It's been a few years and my brows have held up really well! I got them touched up a while back, and also got my lips shaded. Getting my brows and lips shaded in has made a huge difference, and I'm not even a big makeup person. It is so nice to wakeup, throw on clothes and be able to walk out of the house looking polished without any effort. I get compliments on my brows all the time, even from other artist who microblade.

Original: Kashia did an incredible job on my brows! I wear very little makeup, but have thin brows and was tired of having to fill them in for Zoom meetings at work. My brows look totally natural, but fuller and she did a great job of keeping my natural shape (which is pretty arched) while cleaning it up just a bit.

I followed her instructions for after care and had no scabbing, no peeling and they took perfectly. I just had my touch up and I'm thrilled. She also did a great job on my mom, who had almost no eyebrows. I can't recommend her highly enough!
