Laser Peel Skin Resurfacing in Houston

Laser Peel

A laser peel also known as laser resurfacing is a type of cosmetic skin treatment that uses a laser to remove the outer layers of the skin. It is typically performed on the face, neck, chest, or hands to improve the texture and tone of the skin. Laser peels can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and age spots.

Better than any chemical peel! This simple non-invasive treatment improves skin texture that normally takes 30 to 60 minutes to complete. The Dermablate® Laser Peel helps reverse sun damage, treats fine lines, superficial wrinkles, mild to moderate acne scars, evens out tone & texture (pore size), while tightening the skin. It requires virtually no downtime and can be safe for most skin tones.

The Dermablate® laser is a device that uses laser energy to rejuvenate the skin. It is specifically designed for fractional skin rejuvenation, also known as a laser peel, which is a procedure that uses laser energy to remove the outer layers of skin and reveal the healthier, smoother skin underneath.

The Dermablate® uses an Erbium:YAG laser, which is considered the gold standard in this type of treatment. One of the main benefits of the Erbium laser is that it can effectively treat the skin without causing thermal damage, which is damage to the skin caused by heat. Thermal damage can occur with some types of lasers, but the Erbium laser is able to effectively treat the skin without causing this type of damage. As a result, the healing time after an Erbium laser treatment is typically shorter than after other types of laser treatments, such as CO2 lasers. In addition, the Erbium laser typically has very few, if any, side effects.

The wavelength of the Erbium laser, 2,940 nm, is specifically chosen because it matches the maximum peak of water absorption in the skin. This means that the energy from the laser is absorbed primarily by the water in the tissue, which leads to the rapid vaporization of the water and the almost instant ablation of tissue. This process results in a beautiful resurfacing of the skin without the need for expensive surgery.

The safety of the Erbium laser makes it a superior choice for delicate areas such as the face, neck, chest, and hands. It is a powerful yet gentle skin resurfacing laser that can effectively improve the appearance of the skin without the need for surgery.

If you have any of the following skin concerns - skin damage, rough or course skin texture, pigmentation problems, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, or acne scars - the Dermablate® Laser Peel may be able to offer a solution. This treatment uses laser energy to remove the outer layers of skin and reveal the smoother, healthier skin underneath, which can help to improve the appearance of these skin concerns.

If you are not sure if the Dermablate® Laser Peel is the right treatment for you, a complementary consultation is available to discuss your specific skin concerns. During this consultation, our team at Dermaluxe Spa will provide more information about the treatment and help you decide if it is the right choice for you based on your individual needs and goals. We will be able to answer any questions you may have and help you make an informed decision about your skincare journey.

Usually, significant results are seen after even one treatment, but depending on the desired results, you may need several treatments 6 to 8 weeks apart. Results will vary from person to person.

The option is available to add on treatment to the hands, neck, or décolleté (chest area).

The healing time is usually quick and varies for each individual. During the first 24 to 48 hours, there may be a heat sensation similar to a sunburn and flaking of the skin. For between three and seven days afterwards, the skin will start to reveal a smooth appearance with a pinkish color that can easily be covered with light makeup and without affecting your daily activities or social life.

During the next 30 days you will continue to experience improvements in tone, texture and smoothness. Fine lines, wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, sun spots and uneven pigmentation will fade.

Post-treatment instructions for aftercare will be provided after the treatment. These instructions will include recommendations for caring for the treated area and products that should be used to promote healing and optimize the results of the treatment. It is important to follow these instructions carefully to ensure the best possible outcome.

The laser peel resurfacing treatment may be slightly uncomfortable in sensitive areas, but is usually well tolerated. A topical anesthetic can be used if needed to reduce any discomfort that may be experienced during the procedure.

For your appointment, please make sure that your skin is clean and free of makeup. It is also important to avoid using topical treatments such as Retin-A, glycolic acid, and vitamin C for at least two weeks prior to your treatment. Additionally, you should not take medications or supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin E in the lead-up to your appointment. To ensure the best results, it is important to avoid significant sun exposure or sunburns, as well as the use of self-tanning products and other facial treatments (such as chemical peels, IPL, microdermabrasion, or other resurfacing treatments) for at least the previous four weeks.
